The Future of HR
Welcome to the Blog. I have had a pretty exciting week the influx of HR material this week was almost overwhelming. There are so many different aspects that play a role in HR that I didn't even know existed. I'm sure that I am the only one here that didn't know that. So lets take a look at one of the new concepts I learned there was a video I watched produced by Dr. Dave Ulrich named The Future of HR. In this video Dave discusses the 10 criteria to find success in the future. As a trained accident root cause investigator I was tasked to determine of the 10 criteria what did I feel was the most important. Did you take the time to watch the video at the link above? If you haven't please do it I can wait. Welcome back pretty amazing isn't it. There are so many good concepts discussed from the top down. But what I feel we cant do without and that's right in the center. Leadership, Dave goes onto break leadership down into three key elements Basic, Brand, and Sustainability. Its not that I think any of the other sections are less important but without good sold leadership nothing stands a chance. Not an HR department, Sales floor, production area. The leadership does not stop there however individuals must be able to adapt to the ever changing situations to ensure the workforce is stable through the entire production curve. On the flipside If I was forced to remove one of the 10 that presents a fairly difficult challenge as many of them rely on the others and subsequent removal would cause multiple level failure. However if I took away Context a term used to research Social, Technological, economical impacts I honestly don't see the removal effecting any of the other nine criteria. In addition with the strength and focus on building a leadership team that is advanced beyond basic that can bridge the gap between talent and organization to maximize our teams output we will simultaneously accomplish our contextual goals. I also would argue that by allowing the top of the triangle to free up some space those stakeholders can now grow empowering and investing more into the company.
Its a pretty amazing world this HR looking forward to hearing what the world has to say..
